600 lb Sumo Wrestler vs Martellus Bennett

Martellus Bennett took on the heaviest Sumo wrestler in the world. He learned different techniques and warm ups and trained with these Sumo wrestlers for an afternoon. Let's just say sweat wasn’t the only thing dropping to the floor. This piece was picked up by ESPN, TMZ and various other outlets.

For Martellus Bennett, honoring Sumo was important in this piece for people who don’t know. Sumo originated in Japan, the only country where it is practiced professionally, where it is considered the national sport. It is considered a gendai budō, which refers to modern Japanese martial arts, but the sport has a history spanning many centuries. Many ancient traditions have been preserved in sumo, and even today the sport includes many ritual elements, such as the use of salt purification, from Shinto.
Yama is a 600 pound 2-time world sumo champion and just the guy to show Martellus the ropes.
